The vaginal wall is opened with the help of speculum and hysteroscopy, a thin lighted tube is inserted into the uterus through the cervix. By doing so, the surgeon can view the uterus lining and any growth such as polyps, fibroids. Other instruments are inserted into the hysteroscopy to remove the polyps from the womb. Finally, the polyp/s is sent to the laboratory for a microscopic examination. Depends on the procedure and the condition, treatment time may fall between 10-60 minutes.
